Being an online content creator means being a leader.
A leader of an audience. Perhaps a leader of a team of writers.
Most of all, a leader of your own intentions.
Selfish bloggers intend to help themselves. Their pride manifests in conceit, unbalanced by humility.
They drive traffic, make a quick buck, and ultimately perish easily and without being missed.
Servant bloggers intend to help others. Their pride manifests in ego, but is balanced by humility.
They build audiences, make a living, and become essential voices in an ongoing conversation because they matter.
Which kind of blogger are you?

This is the first post in what will be an ongoing series in which I delve into servant leadership as a model for successful blog management.
I spoke about this topic at Authority Intensive 2014. My slides are below. This series will provide the detail that I didn’t have time for during my presentation. To receive updates, please subscribe to Primility or follow me on Twitter.
